Smoking harms almost every tissue and organ in the body. Smoking increases risks of heart attack and stroke. Smoking is the number one preventable cause of death in the US. RVHDC encourages you to quit smoking and has staff and resources available to help you be a quitter.
Smokers have a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Smoking causes:

How can I quit?
Set a quit date
Choose a method
Cold Turkey
Reduce the number of cigarettes smoked
Smoke only part of each cigarette
Decide if you need medications to help you quit
Talk to the educators or your provider at RVHDC
